I am Tahmina, a software engineer. Before tech, I spent 20yrs in the floral and event design industry. Founding my own floral company taught me to prioritize leadership, a growth mindset, and empathy as professional priorities. When Covid hit, my industry was shut down for the foreseeable future. I decided to step away from my business and reinvent myself. Enrolling in Code Fellows Academy, and my dedication, have fueled my creative innovation and passion for software development. My flexible, responsive nature, allows me the resilience to problem-solve my way through ambiguous situations. Ambitious at heart, I love to be challenged and embrace learning through a growth mindset. Focussing on collaboration as a foundation for success in both previous and current careers, I strive to inclusively elevate others and work together to achieve the best results.
My husband and I live in Burien with our 6yr old identical twins and our unusually cute furry-toed critter family of 3 dogs and 2 cats. Hobbies include; A life-long passion for nature and innovation that has powered my love of creative problem-solving and an insatiable thirst to learn. Designing and building things from scratch out of what most would consider garbage has become a favorite pastime and is inspired by my passion for curiosity and creativity. Dedicated to developing beauty, I am an avid plant and flower lover, and in my free time, can be found gardening in my yard.
