Tammarrian Rogers

Snap Inc.
Engineering Director, Inclusion

Tammarrian Rogers (she/her/hers) brings nearly 30 years of engineering leadership experience at Microsoft, Apple, and General Motors.  She is currently Engineering Director, Inclusion at Snap, Inc. located in Santa Monica, CA.  Tammarrian is one of few in the technology sector leading equity and inclusion efforts from within the core business division of engineering. This breaks the established norm where DEI often sits within the HR/People team where focus is broad and company-wide.

In her previous role with Snap, Inc as Director of Engineering, she led several engineering teams including Localization, Quality and Release Engineering, and Information Technology (IT) advocating for Snap’s global customers, advertisers and supporting employee productivity. Her tenure includes significant development to SnapChat and peripheral confidential apps. Tammarrian was drawn to Snap for the collaborative nature of the tool and remains driven by her curiosity on how technology can help make lives better for its users.

Prior to joining Snap, Tammarrian enjoyed her 23-year career at Microsoft leading teams in the Office, Online Services, and Windows Divisions. She was a lead on the teams delivering: the first version of the Office Suite, easing the process of globalizing; customizing and experimenting with the MSN Homepage experience; and releasing, the then next generation of Windows, Windows 8. Currently she serves as an Engineering Advisor for NordVPN and provides DEI counsel to individuals, nonprofits and businesses. She mentors, serves on Northwest Tech Equity Initiative (NWTEI) Board, is a co-founder of Black Women in STEM 2.0 and was named one of Forbes’ 2018 Top 50 Women in Tech.  Tammarrian savors opportunities to present on technology, DEI and her personal/professional journey: ModelExpand; National Society of Black Engineers Portland Professionals Chapter (NSBE PRO - PDX); Girls Talk London; and Grace Hoppers, to name a few.

Hiking, meditation and time with family, friends and her blue standard poodle, Nia, are a big cornerstone to her self-care.  Inspiring black and brown people to thrive feeds her heart.
