Mi-Youn Brusniak
Fred Hutch Director, Optides and Bioinformatics
Mi-Youn Brusniak received Ph.D. as a computational chemist from the college of pharmacy at the University of Texas Austin.
She is currently working as a bioinformatics and data scientist at FHCRC as a bioinformatics director for Optides Protein Science project in clinical division.
She has 25 years of working experience in data acquisition, analysis, design of algorithms and workflow in biomarker clinical development and therapeutics developments in bio-pharma companies or life science research organizations where she enjoys working with multidisciplinary teams (chemists, computer scientists, engineers and clinicians). She has extensive experience in design of experiment, operating procedures and software/algorithms for large-scale data collection, data storage of omics, computational model development through application of existing and novel statistical and machine/deep learning methods for understanding biological and clinical data. She has many scientific journal publications that reflect my extensive research experiences in internationally collaborative multidisciplinary team environments (academics, industry and nonprofit organizations).
