At Bristol Myers Squibb, Nicole leads the Knowledge Science Research team within R&ED, working with data types across our pipeline and beyond. The team builds flexible data capabilities that enable data dissemination and exploration of knowledge through data science, collaboration and best in class technology, to enable world-class computational research for R&ED. Prior to joining BMS, Nicole led the Knowledge Science organization at Celgene and previously held various positions at Merck where she led Scientific Data Strategy & Development for R&ED, focusing on enhancing the utility of translational and clinical data in order to realize the potential of analytics and predictive modeling.

Before moving into the Biopharma industry in 2010, Nicole was an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology at Boston University and has published extensively in the areas of genomic and cardiovascular epidemiology. While in academia, Nicole conducted numerous large-scale population-based observational research studies, using EMR data and more, to investigate a variety of human health questions. She earned her PhD in Epidemiology from University of Washington and her BA in Human Biology from Stanford University. Nicole enjoys gardening and open-water swimming in her free time.
