Women in Tech Regatta 2021 Virtual - Seattle/USA

This panel is dedicated to women of color in our tech community. Diversity initiatives vary from company to company and can take on many shapes depending on a company's size or age. Some women exist as the sole representation at their company and others can connect with large ERGs and networks. Hear these women's stories, their hopes for the future, and their ideas of how diversity programs and leadership could truly make a difference in our organizations no matter the size.

The books have been read. The trainings have been attended. The boxes have been checked. So, what’s changed? Well, a lot actually, but not nearly enough. During this session our panel will discuss what is required for the Technology Industry to manifest the spirit of DEI, not just the words and how each of us can play a role in bringing to life real change where it matters.

What does it mean to be an ally in 2021? After the dumpster fire that was 2020, this question is even more important to understand. It is imperative to leverage our positions for the sake of our underrepresented colleagues, employees, customers, and more. During this session our panel will discuss what courageous leadership looks like in practice, ways to deepen your allyship through standing WITH , and how to stand firm in making your allyship visible.
