11.5 million women across all sectors have lost jobs due to Covid-19. While the technology sector has weathered the storm better than most, salaries have stalled and jobs, especially consulting roles, have disappeared. Additionally, the tech sector offered the option to work remotely. A great solution for some. However, for many women this ‘benefit’ also came with a new, full-time role: teacher. This new role added to all the other household duties that statistically fall to women. As the impacts of Covid continue to be felt, we will discuss strategies for breaking these patterns and finding solutions to support ourselves, our children, and our families.
